LATEST: PETITION CALLS FOR MORE CONSULTATION OVER CAR PARK PLANS

The University has submitted a planning application for a proposed North car park which is causing concern amongst many of our members. For more details see here

Proposed car park and access road at NW end of University of Bath campus

As current and former staff and students at the University of Bath, and members of the local community, we are concerned at the current proposal for the construction of a new surface level car park with 169 spaces and access road at the north western end of the Claverton Down Campus.

This proposal:
* will blight the environment of children in the Westwood nursery and theaten their health
* diminish the quality of life of students in the adjacent residences
* ruin the highly-rated walking path to the Bath Skyline.

As these plans have also been proposed without proper consultation within the University, we urge the University to withdraw its planning application and enter into discussions with staff, nursery parents, students and the local community about alternatives.
